Ironman 70.3 Mossel Bay
Mossel Bay offers scenic beauty of the majestic Outeniqua Mountains and the azure blue sea, rolling green hills and pastures, rich agriculture, and culture. Fynbos, aloes, dolphins and whales, a place one can only describe as paradise – a tourists dream. Mossel Bay’s history is unique and was pivotal to the development of the rest of South Africa.
SWIM | The 1.9km swim will start on Santos Beach, home to the iconic Santos Beach Pavilion. Athletes will swim from here via the marked swim route onto the beach at Santos Bay (De Bakke).
BIKE | Athletes will cycle out of Transition onto the 90km, out and back course via George Road, Louis Fourie Road (Direction Albertina), N2, onto the R327 up to the Gouritz River valley (5km prior to Herbertsdale). From here they will return to Mossel Bay, turning off Louis Fourie Road at George Road and back to Transition at De Bakke.
RUN | The 21.1km run course consists of a two and a half lap course with two turn around points. The first being adjacent to the finish line area at The Point, with the second turn around at the Louis Fourie Road and George Road intersection.
