Cachalot Deep Sea Fishing Charters is a professional deep-sea fishing charter operating from the picturesque coastal town of Mossel Bay. We pride ourselves on our high standard of professional service and aim to offer every client a memorable and exciting fishing and boat ride experience.
Everyone from eager beginners to experienced anglers, including ladies & children from 5 years old, are welcome on our fishing trips.
All adults engaging in fishing activities in South Africa are required to obtain a recreational angling permit for themselves from any Post Office. A temporary permit (valid for 1 month) is approximately R50pp and a permit valid for 1 year is approximately R80pp. This permit makes it legal for you to fish and have the fish you catch. All fishing equipment, tackle, and bait are supplied, only bring your refreshments.
Our boat is inspected and registered yearly by SAMSA – South African Marine Safety Association. We are registered with and come highly recommended by Mossel Bay Tourism!
Cancelation Policy:
If you cancel your charter with us, you will forfeit your deposit, the reason for this is that we sell time and we have now lost that day. If we cancel for whatever reason e.g. Boat out of order etc. your deposit is fully refundable if you are not able to reschedule. If the trip has to be called off due to bad weather for safety reasons (This is the skipper’s sole right), we prefer to reschedule but understand that this is not always possible and will refund your deposit. There are no refunds in any way for returning early due to seasickness, we also do not go back to shore to drop sick people off and go out to sea again. If the skipper deems a guest not fit when out at sea he will return at his own discretion. If you arrive late from the agreed time your trip will be shortened by the time you are late, as we often have another trip. Bring With Light Rain Jacket, Towel, Jersey if a cooler day or night trip, snacks, refreshments, 2 liters water pp, sunglasses, sunscreen, a good hat, and a fishing license. Quick dry clothes are always better but not essential.

Payment details will be sent via WhatsApp to you once your booking has been received and confirmed.
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. The full balance to be settled on the day of the charter.
