SUMMARY:Eighties Tribute Show” – James Marais & Monique Cassells
DESCRIPTION:James Marais and Monique Cassells are well-known for their tribute shows at ReedValley\, having previously presented shows such as “A Trip Down Memory Lane”\, “From Memphis To Las Vegas: Elvis Presley Tribute”\, “Old School Country Legends Tribute”\, and “Back To The Seventies: ‘70s Tribute”. They are now bringing their “Eighties Tribute Show” to ReedValley for the first time\, which pays tribute to great artists and songs from the 1980s\, including the likes of artists such as Queen\, Wham!\, Bryan Adams\, Billy Joel\, Shakin Stevens\, Bruce Springsteen\, Dire Straits and more.\nJust as with their previous shows\, the “Eighties Tribute Show” is a mini-theatrical experience\, featuring the dynamic vocal and visual performances of James and Monique\, alternating as a duo and individual performers\, who also do multiple costume changes throughout.\nJames is renowned as the no. 1 Elvis Presley tribute artist in the country\, and has appeared on television several times\, including appearances on SABC 2’s game shows\, “Noot Vir Noot” and “Musiek Roulette”\, as well as Kyknet’s “Jou Show”\, presented by Emo Adams. In this ‘80s tribute\, he shows his versatility with songs such as Neil Diamond’s “Love On The Rocks”\, Chris de Burgh’s “Lady In Red” and Tom Jones’ “Kiss”.\nMonique\, who has gained widespread praise for her powerhouse voice and performances\, as well as her versatility\, further extends her repertoire with tributes to Tina Turner (“The Best”)\, Jennifer Rush (“The Power of Love”) and Cher (“If I Could Turn Back Time”)\, among others. Monique made her television debut on SABC 2’s “Musiek Roulette” in May 2018.\nJames and Monique also perform some sterling duets in the show such as “Handle With Care” by The Traveling Wilburys and “You May Be Right” by Billy Joel.\nJames and Monique are a popular duo at ReedValley\, and their lively shows and nostalgia have left audiences singing and dancing along to their music!
