Family Fun
Mossel Bay is one of the most popular holiday spots in South Africa. Understandably so, with world class beaches, countless family activities and marine sports for old and young. Many people don’t know this coastal town right under our noses is said to have one of the most consistent climates in the world, which makes it an all-year holiday destination. Conveniently situated along the famous Garden Route, it is an ideal overnight stop for travellers, as well as a long stay location for long, lazy holidays.
Boasting access to two Blue Flag Beaches, De Bakke Santos is uniquely positioned to get the most out of your Garden Route holiday experience. Spend your days on the beach lazing in the sun, building sandcastles with the kids and taking long walks along the coast. It is also a prime spot for fishing and Mossel Bay offers entertainment galore, with shopping malls, cinemas, restaurants, and a golf course nearby. If you’re interested in sightseeing, don’t miss a visit to the harbour; or you can try your luck at the Garden Route Casino. For an educational day trip, you can visit the 19th-century Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse or brush up on the history of the town at the Bartholomeus Dias Museum Complex which includes the Maritime Museum, the Shell Museum, and botanical gardens. The famous Post Office Tree at the museum has been used as part of the mail services since the 1500s!
